Man, I am so happy right now. So, Saturday afternoon, I did the thing I have been dreading most: I checked the mailbox.
Bill, bill, bill, bill, bill, check, bill, bill…
Waitaminute…check?! What is this? I ripped it open and a $300 check was smiling at me. “Hey baby, how you doing?”
“Well, I’m better now that you have come into my life.”
Yes, the joys of freelancing. You write a story, and get paid upon publication date, not when you turn it in. I usually hate this system because you know, I want my money now. But it always seems to pop up when I least expect it, and when I need it the most.
So, what was I going to do with $300? Well, we figured it would go towards a portion of what our computer would cost. We went to Best Buy, who was having a sale on this computer. It was $365. So, we can wait for that last bit of money, I thought.
But, wait, they were taking $100 off all PCs when you sign up for high speed internet. And so we signed up. Yes, forced into a contract we would probably not want after a few months. Turns out, their system was down and we couldn’t sign up.
So, they took $100 off anyway sans the contract. And for an extra $20 (another deal they were having) we bought the printer we needed for so many years.
And we paid exactly $313.00 for it all.
Life is good.
Oh and p.s…you get to decide my future for me. Well, kind of. I posted a poll on my work blog. Please leave me comments and vote, vote, vote!
Well, I’ll be back with that link very soon. I forgot. When you get paid to blog, an editor has to approve everything. So restricting, which is why I will always love my personal blog. She will probably approve it by tomorrow…
